Lab 02 · Are You There?
A ping is a tiny test message that asks another computer, 'Are you there?' If a reply comes back, the two computers are connected. You will send one that works and one that fails, so you can tell the difference.
What you will do
- Send a ping
- Count the replies
- Ping an empty address
- Read the error
